FORGET ABOUT "SAVING MONEY" ON INFERIOR EFFECTS

When shopping around for effects, being wise with money is important in your ministry, but buying low quality props probably isn’t. A few extra dollars for a better, well-built piece of equipment is a much better choice than a “clunky” one. Also when you purchase the poorly made one, either you will not use it because you are not happy with it or probably end up buying the nicer one anyway. (Very few shops take effects back for exchange). Also, you run the risk of the other prop going up in price. For example when looking for the “ABC Block effect” to share that “A” for “Accept we are sinners”, “B” for “Believe Jesus died for our sins” and “C” for “live a Christ centered Life.” There are many versions of this effect available. One that was found in the author’s search for the effect had the blocks stenciled cheaply with the letters. There was also a version of the effect nicely painted, a little bit more in price, but no letters on the blocks. The choice was simple, spend a little more for the unlettered blocks and make another stop at the local office supply store or sign shop for some large gold stick on foil or vinyl letters. When finished it was a much sharper piece of apparatus for just a few extra dollars and a little effort. (The cover for the effect was also covered with contact paper and a cross put on the one side of it for the routine that was written). |
