THE CLOWN
Nancy Aposhian (a.k.a. Starburst the Clown) grew up in a Christian home with her Dad, Mom and older sister. Even as a child, she felt God’s call on her life. She was deeply impacted by the discipleship program in the youth ministry at her home church. It was there that her heart for ministry was cultivated.
She then attended BIOLA University. While there, Nancy majored in Christian Education and trained to go into full-time vocational ministry. After graduating, she became a children’s director in the Orange County area. Her experience lies in the areas of Christian camping ministry and working with teenagers in the local church. She also worked with mentally and physically disabled children and adults through the county social system for a short time.
Through all these experiences, God gave her the desire to reach children outside the church. In July 2002, she became a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Recently, she graduated from the Children’s Ministry Institute (CMI) and leads classes at her local chapter in the Greater Long Beach Area. Her goal is to spread the gospel through establishing Good News Clubs and training others to do the same.
“Starburst the Clown” was born out of a desire to reach kids in more creative ways. She completed a week at the University of Wisconsin for Clown Camp in June, 2005. Starburst performs using gospel illusion, object lessons and storytelling. Her goal is to make Biblical messages relevant to kids and equip adults to lead children to Christ. Starburst speaks for children’s outreach events all over Southern California. She demonstrates how each child is important to God and reminds them to “shine their light” by sharing the love of Christ wherever they go.
